Construction on SR 150

We wanted to inform everyone of a construction project on SR150 from Samak to Soapstone that will impact cyclists.

Crews will be resurfacing a 10 mile stretch of S.R. 150 starting at MP 6 in Samak and making their way to MP 16 in Soapstone. They will be working in two mile sections at a time and traffic will be brought down to one lane with flagging and pilot car operations. Work will start today, August 17, and will continue Monday-Friday 7a.m. to 7 p.m. through early November.

Cyclists are advised to avoid the area as much as possible during construction as asphalt removal will result in rougher riding conditions. When this is not possible, cyclists should drive with traffic and not attempt to pass other vehicles. Cyclists are required to stop at the flaggers and follow the pilot car with other traveling public.

If riding in that area, make sure to plan for construction and follow all safety precautions. A map of the construction is found below.
