General Race Schedule
General Race Information
Thanks to your participation last year, we will be racing into the night on June 20, 2025.
The Mid Week Endurance Relay is a multi-hour MTB event hosted in celebration of the longest day of the year! New for 2025, solo and team racers will ride laps on this fun 7-mile course beginning at noon (12-hour race) or 6:00 pm (6-hour race) and ending at midnight. Those with the most number of laps in each event and category will be awarded prizes for their efforts.
Provided that construction in the area allows, we’ll follow (more or less) the same course as last year. You’ll begin the race with a mass start on College Way/Riverview Double Track roads. Racers will have 0.75mi to spread out before a 1.25mi climb to the top of Hobbiton Hill. From there, you’ll roll along Rivendell for 2.25 miles until the fast 1.5mi descent down Rivendell and Upper Potatoes. At the bottom of those flowy turns, you’ll take a left turn onto the Riverview Double Track where you’ll coast along for 1.25mi until you turn right onto Lower Riverview trail for a quick descent to the timing tent, completing a lap.
Our timing crew will record laps for each solo racer and team under the timing arch. Team handoffs will occur just outside the timing arch after each lap.
Bring your friends and family! This course is great for spectators, and solo riders and teams will be able to set up party space in our base area.
Check-In & Pre-Race Rider Meeting
Check-in will be at the Bike Utah tents in the uppermost parking lot of the UVU Wasatch Campus. Please check-in for this race, as you will receive a race plate(s) for you or your team that are completely different from a normal Mid Week Series plate.
At 11:45 am (12-hour race) and 5:45 pm (6-hour race), we will have a rider meeting for everyone! We'll go over any last minute details and touch base with you all before we begin riding. Solo riders and first lap riders for teams, please be fully ready to ride at this time!
Parking & Base Area
Will be in the UVU Wasatch Campus parking lots. Please feel free to bring shade tents, camping tents, trailers, etc to base from. Just remember that it is an asphalt surface, so please bring tent weights (instead of stakes) to hold tents down if the wind picks up.
Course Info
HERE is a link to the main loop (that we rode in 2024). Provided construction in the area allows, we will ride the same (or a very similar course). Final course info will be posted by early summer.
Start/Lapping/Finish
Start - for funsies, we'll do a Le Mans start from the base area at noon (12-hour race) and at 6:00 pm (6-hour race).
First lap - will start out heading south on the Riverview Double Track (road) to get everyone spread out.
Subsequent laps - will begin on the Lower Riverview singletrack trail.
Lapping - all riders must pass through the finish timing tent before beginning their next lap. Team handoffs will take place just outside of the timing tent after a lap is completed. You do not have to begin a lap immediately after completing one.
Finish - each individual and team will have the opportunity to head out on one last lap no later than 11:30 pm. Once the last racer is in, the race is over.
The end - podium presentations will commence as soon as the race is complete.
Other Pertinent Info
Course Markings - as with all of our races, there will be orange flags and some directional signs that will always be on your right.
Self Support - bring your own food, water, chargers (lights & phones), bike maintenance supplies, shelter, etc. Make sure you have a fix kit with you on your bike when you're riding!
No Stationary Trail Marshals - you're out there on your own (with other racers) so please familiarize yourself with the course, and help each other out, if needed. Roving trail marshals may be available.
Lights - are required, as we will be riding after dark!
First Aid - we will have basic first aid supplies and advanced first aid responders at the base area.
And Finally - The Rules
Every participant (individual or member of a team) must complete at least one lap.
Team members may ride in any order they wish, as long as Rule 1 is followed.
Those in each category with the most laps in the time allotted will win. In case of a tie in numbers of laps, the fastest time will win.
Ride safely, be nice, have fun.
Volunteer with us!
Our races don’t happen without the support of our amazing volunteer community. If you’re coming to our races as a spectator - try volunteering! Need to use those community service hours at work - we’ve got a spot for you!
Mid Week MTB Series volunteers receive an awesome t-shirt, a free entry to a future race, an entry into our evening giveaway, and a lot of love and high fives from racers!
We’ve got volunteer spots that last for a short time or the whole evening, are at the base area or on course, are hike-to or bike-to. We need energetic and enthusiastic people to help check in racers, trail marshal on course, sweep the last racers, and pick up course markings.
Get paid to volunteer! Bike Utah is a registered non-profit organization. Ask your employer about paid volunteer hours, paid days off to volunteer, or other potential benefits for volunteering. We will provide appropriate documentation.
Important info about these races
-
Please understand that by agreeing to race with us, you’ve agreed to everything in the Racer Handbook. Become familiar with that document - it contains a lot of good information!
-
This is a bike race. You agree to wear a helmet at our races ANY time you are on a bike. That includes in the parking lot, during warm-ups, on stage transfers, during cool-downs, etc.
-
We don’t take ourselves overly seriously, and you shouldn’t either. No one is here to qualify for the Olympics or win a big prize purse. Those who take home medals (or at least high fives and kudos) will be the ones who are the most friendly and supportive of all riders on course. Race results may not necessarily be available on race night, but some great sponsor-provided swag will be!

Our sponsors are the backbone of the Mid Week Fat Bike & MTB Series. Without their support, we wouldn't be half the race series we are. Our goal with sponsorships is to help offset race production costs so that 100% of the revenue raised from registration fees can go directly to supporting other Bike Utah programs.
